So this is a crazy topic... not so crazy, but it can be very controversial...
We live in a day and time where cultural, racial, oriental, and religious standards and stereotypes are heavily debated and in question in all forms of media, entertainment and art...
I've seen a lot of controversy the past few weeks from...
Black girls on strike on Tiktok when it comes to creating a dance to Megan Thee Stallion's new song "Hand on my knees"
People feeling like the LGBTQ+ community is pushing the life style on youth under the age of 10.
Controversy with Men kissing each other at award shows when Women in the early 2000s did the same thing and there was no backlash...
Comic lovers and creators in a uproar when Manga culture dominates the graphic/comic book industry
Entertainment not being able to create new ideas in stories without highlighting either BLM, Orientation, religion or Racial inclusion...
it's a lot... and I've probably unpacked a lot as well.
but the question is ... is Woke Culture becoming too "woke"...
I'm beginning to see people cause conflict over someone wearing a "rose quartz" necklace... which could mean differently to anyone based on who they are in my opinion.
People dictating their thoughts and views on somebody else's life... despite not harming anyone regardless of their "thought process"...
my whole reasoning of being this up is to refer to indie visual artist like myself who is of color especially African American
is it hard to appeal to our own people is the art piece isn't overly realistic or vice versa...
I've always had a problem with people who can't believe that someone who can draw this
can also draw this
Does people
and let me word this correctly... Does people who do not understand the industry or art in general think that people are a one trick pony?
I don't know. I'm trying to grasp on the thought.
stumbled on this videos. Might not embody what I mean but ... ehhh:
