Before the Redesign: The Comic + Animation Era of Millsbury Media

Every creative brand has a starting point, and for Millsbury Media, the Comic + Animation page of its earlier site was the heart of the vision. This space wasn’t just a gallery of drawings—it was an entire ecosystem where comics, characters, and animated projects lived side by side.

The Creative Core

At the top of the page, Millsbury Media made it clear: this section was for everything narrative, visual, and imaginative. Here, visitors could browse the full library of comic series, collaborations, original characters, concept art, and even 2D animations. It was more than a portfolio—it was a blueprint of a creative universe in motion.

The ComicVerse Vision

Central to that blueprint was the idea of the Millsbury Media ComicVerse. This wasn’t a single series but a shared continuity that tied every illustrated story, graphic novel, and webcomic together.

The promise was simple: if a story carried the Millsbury Media name—or if it was created by Maurice J. Miller (also known as Maurice “Hero” Miller)—then it belonged to this greater narrative universe. Much like Marvel, DC, or even Kingdom Hearts, each title might stand alone in its own era or dimension, but they were connected through a larger omniverse. That meant characters, themes, and even events had the potential to cross over in surprising ways.

Featured Comics and Series

The page also served as a showcase of titles both published and in development. Among the highlights were:

  • Hiro Da Black Panda – a flagship series with new chapters posted to Webtoon.

  • June Seven – a character-driven sci-fi adventure rooted in identity and cosmic conflict.

  • Pride Helix – a futuristic saga exploring resilience and spirit.

  • Royal Cloud, Grunt Cardx, and ComicVerse Conspiracies – projects that were originally teased as Coming Soon. Over time, these titles may have experienced delays, changes, or possible cancellations, with serious restructuring behind the scenes. They remain part of the broader creative vision, but their final form is still under construction.

  • Perplexia – unlike the others, this project appears to be underway, hinting that fresh development could bring it to life sooner.

Alongside previews, the site provided links to platforms like Webtoon, Tapas, and Comic Fury, where readers could dive into chapters. There was also a storefront offering pre-orders of physical volumes and affordable digital downloads—some already sold out, proving the demand for this work.

Multimedia Storytelling

What made the old Comic + Animation page especially unique was its blend of formats. It didn’t stop at comics:

  • New comic pages were updated regularly with short blog-style posts.

  • Animated clips and quick-draw videos were embedded throughout, showing the artistic process in real time.

  • Concept sketches and speed drawings gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at how characters and worlds were built.

This approach reinforced the idea that Millsbury Media wasn’t just publishing comics—it was experimenting with multimedia storytelling.

Building a Community

The site also encouraged community interaction. A dedicated forum was linked for fans to discuss stories and share ideas, while social media icons connected audiences to Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook, and Flickr. The goal was clear: create not just readers, but a creative community invested in the Millsbury ComicVerse.

The Ambition and Identity

Looking back, the old Comic + Animation page radiated ambition. It was a place where future projects were announced, current works were showcased, and the ComicVerse idea was planted firmly into the ground. It proved that Millsbury Media wasn’t just about creating individual comics—it was about building a unified creative world.

Looking Ahead: The “Plus” Era

With the upcoming redesign, Millsbury Media is taking this foundation and expanding it further. The new site will introduce a dedicated “Plus” section, a space fully focused on exploring and growing the Millsbury ComicVerse.

This section will:

  • Spotlight new and legacy series with proper continuity connections.

  • Offer deeper dives into the lore, characters, and worlds.

  • Provide exclusive content—concept art, behind-the-scenes notes, and expanded universe storytelling.

  • Strengthen the sense of community by making the ComicVerse a central hub, not just a feature.

The Plus section promises to be the evolution of what the Comic + Animation page once was: a dedicated space where the ComicVerse can thrive, expand, and truly come alive for both new and longtime fans.

Millsbury Media has always been about creativity, storytelling, and community. With the new “Plus” section, the ComicVerse will no longer be an idea in progress—it will be a living, breathing universe for everyone to experience.
